Is Fortnite Down? How to Check Server Status and When It Will Be Back Online

Fortnite goes down, Fortnite goes up...

Fortnite is one of the most popular games in recent times, but despite all the power and popularity, it needs to rest sometimes, meaning it can’t be constantly up. In this article, I will help you check if Fortnite is down and when it will be back up online.

Fortnite Servers Not Responding: When Will Fortnite Server Be Back Up?

When Fortnite servers are not responding, you might initially feel that there’s something wrong on your end (your Internet connection, specifically) but after establishing that you can browse the Internet freely, it’s perhaps safe to assume that the problem is on Fortnite’s end. Here’s how to check if Fortnite is down:

The official Epic Games Status Page will probably be the best source of information. It is mostly up-to-date. Down Detector is the best third-party website for “is it down” questions because millions of users report when a service they’re using is down. The official X (former Twitter) account for Fortnite Status will probably post updates about the outages and maintenance when possible. Out of these three, this is the place where you would most likely find concrete information about when the Fortnite servers will be back up. Other than that, you can only keep trying to reconnect manually.

Additionally, if you are using PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo Switch, you might want to check if the outage is not related to Fortnite (Epic Games) or you but to your own gaming service:

When Will Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 Myths and Mortals Be Live?

It is currently unbeknownst to us when the new Fortnite Season called Myths and Mortals will be live. Epic Games has made no official statements, and all we know is that it’s going live on March 8th, 2024. An educated guess is that it might go online between 1 PM and 4 PM UTC, depending on how long the maintenance might last. Sadly, the maintenance of gaming servers is not an exact science, and some processes take different amounts of time for different patches.

Update 2:14 PM UTC:

Fortnite Status tweeted that there were some unexpected issues and that Chapter 5 Season 2 of Battle Royale in Fortnite will be live no earlier than 11 PM UTC. It’s almost as if my prediction jinxed everything! I apologize to the Fortnite community. However, I am confident that most of the USA at least will get to enjoy Fortnite without interruptions on Friday night. Stay tuned to Fortnite Status official Twitter account for further updates!

How to convert UTC Time to my Time Zone?

There are many ways to convert the UTC time to your time zone. One of them is to google search “UTC time now” and compare it to your local time, and then do the math. Many websites serve as free online calculators, and I’ve found that Every Time Zone serves my personal needs the most (not officially endorsed by GameSkinny).
