Mass Effect Legendary Edition: How to Input Face Codes

When you have the 36-digit number copied, follow these steps to import the code into Mass Effect Legendary Edition:

  1. Start a New Game
  2. Select “Enter New ID” option
  3. Choose the same gender for your Shepard character as before
  4. Enter the “Character Appearance” menu
  5. Paste the Identity Code into the “Code” field

If you’ve done everything right, then you should be looking at the face you’ve chosen to input the code for. Do be aware that some older faces may not look exactly as they originally did, which is something Bioware is aware of.

Mass Effect 1 Face Codes

If you have access to old save files only for Mass Effect 1, then it’s going to be a bit more difficult. But you can still import faces from that version of the game into the Legendary Edition by following these steps:

  1. Start Mass Effect 2 game
  2. Select “Import ME1 Character” in the main menu
  3. Choose to upload the old save file from Mass Effect 1
  4. Copy the “Identity Code” number from the customization screen

Once you have the face code from Mass Effect 1, you can repeat the same steps to import it into the Legendary Edition of the game as listed above.
