Project Mugetsu: S-Tier Shikai

Ryujin Jakka

  • Rarity: Legendary

This Shikai has four moves, two of which are very powerful. The strongest one is, of course, Ryujin Jakka (V). Note that your Zanpakuto Evolution must be at least Level 35 if you want to unlock this move.

Ryujin Jakka (V) is an AoE move with a burn effect that lasts for 30 seconds after being initiated, dealing 69.5 damage. This move can also guard-break and has a cooldown of 30 seconds.

The next best move for this Shikai, however, is Hitotsume Nadegiri (X), which can is unlocked at Level 10. It’s a targeted close-range move that deals 42.5 damage with a 5-second afterburn. You can also use it as a part of your combos.

The other two moves, Taimatsu (Z) and Ennetsu Jigoku (C), aren’t as strong, but you can still use them in limited situations.

Kamishini

  • Rarity: Rare

Kamishini Shikai is all about sword attacks, so you’ll need to be able to wield a katana for this set of moves. The best of the set is Shoot em’ Dead (V), which requires your Zanpakuto Evolution to be at least Level 35.

Shoot em’ Dead (V) is a powerful forward thrust that hits everything in its path. The best part about this move is that it can’t be blocked, so find an array of enemies, and slash them all with this massive attack.

Shunsogeki (C) is another great move that’s similar to Shoot em’ Dead (V). This one can be blocked, although it’s hard to do. The best way to utilize this move is to stand behind an enemy and initiate it.

The other two moves, Butorenjin (Z) and Senbujin (X), are your basic sword attacks, although the latter one can be used as an AoE attack.

Senbonzakura

  • Rarity: Rare

This Shikai consists of four magic moves that can be quite useful in the right situations. Note that all four moves in this set have relatively long cooldowns that may last up to a couple of minutes.

Blossoming Petals (V) is the most powerful move in this set, which creates a cloud of Senbonzakura petals that cut everything in their way, thus protecting you from attacks.

Another excellent move is Scattering Spiral (C), which allows you to travel underground for a short period of time without being noticed. Then, you can unexpectedly pop up from the ground, instantly slashing your opponents.

The other two moves, Senbonzakura (Z) and Vibrant Bloom (X), are also quite useful, as they let you shoot magic projectiles at your enemies from afar.

Hyorinmaru

  • Rarity: Uncommon

Ice Magic isn’t as strong as Senbonzakura, but this set of moves has a few cool elements you could definitely make use of.

Ice Eruption (V) is a very cool move that allows you to block-break enemy attacks, before freezing them for a short period of time. This move has the chance to surprise your enemies.

Ice Clone (C) is another interesting move that allows you to create a clone of yourself, which can be used to lure and confuse enemies. They’ll often attack the clone, putting their backs to you, leaving them open for surprise attacks. Note that this move can be used only if you’ve been stunned.

Ice Spikes (Z) and Ice Traps (C) are two generic moves that simply let you leave ice traps and ice spikes on the ground.

Zangetsu

  • Rarity: Common

Zangetsu is the first sword you get when you unlock Shikai at Character Level 15 and Meditation Level 20.

The best Zangetsu move is Getsuga Tensho (V), which sends out a massive wave of blue energy striking all enemies in its path. This move can also guard-break enemies.

Tenbu Renjin (C) move creates a series of fast-paced slashes that may also work as a shield against enemy attacks. Atlhough it’s the only move in the Zangetsu set that can’t guard-break, you can deflect incoming projectiles with it.

Engetsuzan (Z) and Getsuga Burst (X) are simple yet effective moves that have relatively short cooldown times.
