Should You Let Bermudo Go in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Once you catch Bermudo, should you let the agent go in Dragon's Dogma 2.

As you’re doing main missions with Captain Brant in Vernworth, at some point during the night an agent will start shadowing you in the city square. Whether you notice him or your pawn, you have a couple of choices here. So, should you let Bermudo go in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Should You Let the Agent Go in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

I highly recommend capturing the agent with the “Refuse” option and not letting him go for compensation, here’s why. The agent’s name is Bermudo and this encounter will trigger during nighttime after the first or second Captain Brant mission in Vernworth. Most likely, your pawn will notice him in the city square right next to the stairs leading up to the inn where Brant usually resides.

As soon as my pawn notified me and I saw Bermudo spying on me, I started running after him. This triggered a small chase sequence. Your Arisen will be slightly faster than Bermudo, and I will hit the Grab button as soon as you start getting close to him. This will grapple him to the ground, and you’ll start a dialogue with the agent. Essentially, Bermudo is a Batthal spy following your actions, and now that you’ve found him, he claims he’ll give up his mission.

If you choose to let him go, he’ll pay you a decent sum of gold, but I wouldn’t accept his offer since you can get gold if you capture him as well. Choosing not to let him go starts a fight. Be aggressive, as getting his HP to about half causes Captain Brant and his men to show up and capture the spy. You’ll then start a quest to come back to Brant after a few days, and when they finish questioning him, you get paid.

So in summary, should you let Berudo go in Dragon’s Dogma 2? No, since capturing him allows you to both learn that he’s a Batthal spy and you get gold from Brant anyway. Check out more of our Dragon’s Dogma 2 guides like how to rescue the Magistrate or find Malcolm.
