Skyrim Carry Weight Command: How to Increase Weight Permanently

Come down, Dragon. I can now carry you all by myself!

“Over-encumbered” is the last thing a Skyrim player wants to see. It’s indeed a big trifle to manage your limited inventory in Skyrim, and some players put in a cheat command, but it always seems to revert upon game load. Here’s how to increase your weight capacity permanently in Skyrim.

How to Permanently Increase Carry Weight Capacity With a Command in Skyrim

Skyrim has quite a few commands and cheats, and you can use them to customize your experience in Skyrim completely. One of the things I believe is the most sought-after is not the god mode code but the carry weight capacity increase code. Not everyone wants to have a stroll-in-the-park level of difficulty in their game, but everyone has an inventory problem; let’s not fool ourselves.

Luckily, there is a way to permanently increase your carry weight capacity so that it remains the way you set it even after you close your game and turn it on later to resume where you left off. So, here are the misconceptions about the codes that alter your weight-carry capacity in Skyrim:

Skyrim Cheat / Console CodeWhat it Does
player.setav carryweight (number)Sets the carry weight to a specified number.
This will not be remembered the next time you boot up Skyrim.
player.modav carryweight (number)Sets the carry weight to a specified number.
This will be remembered the next time you boot up Skyrim.
player.forceav carryweight (number)Mods the carry weight to a specified number.
This will be remembered the next time you boot up Skyrim.

Go wild with the weight capacity value with the two last commands from the chart, but not too much, so that your Skyrim doesn’t crash.
