There are several graves with loot on the island in Sons of the Forest, but if you’re specifically looking to obtain a shotgun and a GPS locator, then you need to find a grave with a wooden cross. Our guide will provide you with tips on how to complete the wooden cross grave GPS quest in Sons of the Forest.

Obtain the Shovel

Before searching for the wooden cross grave players need to obtain the shovel, a necessary tool for digging up the grave. Follow these steps to get the shovel:

  1. Travel to the western side of the island.
  2. Find an entrance into the cave at coordinates x6068, y7022.
  3. Reach the end of this cave.
  4. Pick up a shovel from the dead miner’s corpse.

You will also need a Rebreather and a Rope Gun to be able to successfully traverse the entire cave. Don’t forget to bring some weapons, ammo, and healing items in order to survive the attacks on your way there.

Players can find a Rebreather inside the cave at coordinates x6433, y3475, and a Rope Gun inside another cave at coordinates x4568, y7882.

Wooden Cross Grave Location

The grave with a wooden cross is an operative’s grave, which is located in the northwestern part of the island. You can use your mini-map to track it down by going to coordinates x3618, y3519.

Once you’re at the graveyard, you need to do the following:

  1. Interact with the wooden cross by pressing “E” key.
  2. Open your inventory and select shovel.
  3. Start digging next to a wooden cross, where there’s no grass growing.
  4. Continue until you break the lid of the wooden coffin.

This action will reveal the corpse of a dead operative with a shotgun and a GPS locator in his hands. Pick them up by pressing the “E” key, which will complete the quest.

The shotgun is one of the best weapons in the game, so it’s worth taking your time and finishing this quest. The shotgun can be held either in one or both hands, and it uses two types of ammo, including high damage buckshot and long-range slugs. It can also be improved with three types of attachments:

  • Attachment Rail.
  • Flashlight.
  • Laser Sight.
