How to Store Items on Your Ship in Starfield

Sifting through your collectibles, weapons, and items in general can be cumbersome from your personal inventory in Starfield, not to mention your carry capacity. You’ll want to store items in your ship’s cargo to save some of that frustration. I’m a big-time hoarder when it comes to RPGs, so utilizing my ship’s storage is a must. Here’s how to store items in your cargo in steps:

  • Enter your ship.
  • Head to your main character menu.
  • Select your inventory in the bottom right.
  • Select the item you wish you move.
  • Press “Store” (shown bottom right).

How to Remove Items From Your Ship Cargo in Starfield

Storing is pretty straightforward, but removing the items can send you into a tailspin with all of the various navigation menus to learn in the game. Here’s how to easily remove and transfer items from your ship in Starfield.

The Cargo Hold Panel

  • Approach the Cargo Hold panel on the wall of your ship’s interior near the captain’s chair.
  • Interact with it to view the cargo hold.
  • Select the item you want to remove.
  • Press “Transfer” (shown bottom right).

  • Head to your main character menu.
  • Select your ship in the bottom left.
  • Press “Cargo Hold” (bottom right).
  • Select the item you wish to remove.
  • Press “Transfer” (shown bottom right).
