Sunken Ship Password Solution: How to Find the Six Hints in Super Mario RPG

As you explore the Sunken Ship in Super Mario RPG, you’ll eventually need to find six hints to reveal a six-letter password that opens the final room. The six hints can be found in a hallway that has two levels and six total rooms. Solving the short puzzles in the rooms will reward you with a hint that will ultimately reveal the password solution.

  • Sunken Ship Hint 1: The adventurer Indigo’s memo: “There is an ‘S’ in the word.”

The first room will have a Paratroopa flying around and a column of blocks. To get the first hint for the Sunken Ship password, move around so the Paratroopa hits the cannonball on top of the stack of boxes, hitting the switch in the air.

How to Get the Hint in the Second Room

  • Sunken Ship Hint 2: The adventurer Indigo Jr.’s memo: “It is found on the bed of the ocean.”

The second room will have three springs moving back and forth above stacks of boxes. Hit the floating blocks to stop them in the right position. Make sure they’re evenly spaced so the cannonball bounces across all of them and hits the switch

How to Get the Hint in the Third Room

  • Sunken Ship Hint 3: The second expedition team’s memo: “It has two vowels.”

The third room has the trickiest puzzle on the Sunken Ship. Here, you’ll have to navigate a 3D maze without seeing Mario. After you enter the maze, you’ll stop about halfway through and jump onto a new level. From there, jump to the left and follow the path until you see Mario again. From there, you can circle around and jump up to the top of the maze to receive the third hint.

  • Sunken Ship Hint 4: The search party Onyx’s memo: “It is very valuable.”

In the fourth room, follow the coin and pick up the other coins that it leaves in its path. Be quick, however! The coins will disappear after a short time, and you can’t pick up the coin you’re chasing until the very end.

  • Sunken Ship Hint 5: The fourth investigation crew’s memo: “‘It’ is actually a ‘they.'”

The fifth room will have some cannons and blocks that you can hit. Hit the block on the far left first, then hit every other block as soon as the cannonball is right under them

How to Get the Hint in the Sixth Room

  • Sunken Ship Hint 6: The treasure hunter Elan’s memo: The “R” comes before the “L.”

The sixth and final room will have a stack of barrels that you can jump on. Move the barrel to stay on top of one of the switches for the final clue.
