Skyrim: What is Bone Break Fever?

If you’ve been exploring for a while, you may have found yourself with Bone Break Fever. You can get Bone Break Fever from any type of Bear in the game or if caught in a trap. So be careful when you’re out hunting and exploring.

This disease can be a big hindrance since it drains 25 points from your Stamina. This means you won’t be able to sprint as much or use powerful attacks as much, which can be really annoying, especially in the early game.

How to Cure Bone Break Fever in Skyrim

If you’ve contracted Bone Break Fever, you’ll notice that it won’t go away on its own. I tried to wait a whole hour, but I still had the disease. Luckily, there are a few different ways to cure this annoying disease.

The first way to cure Bone Break Fever is to visit altars at temples. These will fully cure your character.

However, the most effective way to cure Bone Break Fever is using any potion with the Cure Disease effect. You can easily buy these potions from alchemists throughout the game. However, if you’re crafty enough, you can brew your own potion with any of these materials:

  • Charred Skeever Hide
  • Hawk Feathers
  • Mudcrab Chitin
  • Vampire Dust

Alternatively, you can also talk to a Vigilant of Stendarr and ask them to cure any disease, or you can join the Companions and contract Lycanthropy to cure it.
