As expected, Hades can be found at the Underworld location, one of the new POIs on the map. This is on the northwest side, just above Grim Gate.

Once you land there, head within the temple at the highest point, all the way to the western side. His statue can be seen toward the center upper floor of the temple, which is semi-uncovered. The statue will glow gold so it’ll be easier to detect.

How to Defeat Hades in Fortnite

To initiate the fight with Hades, you must summon him by interacting with the statue on the pedestal: X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation, or E on PC.

Your character will push the statue down and begin the boss fight.

This boss fight is not simple, so before initiating, you’ll want to ensure you are at full shield and have at least two guns with plenty of ammo. Thankfully, there are so many chests around the temple (on higher and lower floors) and a plethora of ammo boxes.

The fight takes place in multiple waves. At the start, Hades will summon some Minions to test you while he watches on from his throne. There will be three Minions to fight at a time. When you defeat one, another will spawn to take his place. This goes on for three waves. At the third wave, Hades himself will jump down from his throne to fight alongside them.

Hades has a few different types of attacks he will get you with. He will use the Chain of Hades to swing at you from a distance, shoot at you with his SMG, or use his Siphon ability. His Siphon ability will create a pull from him to you and drain your health. The best way to avoid this is to keep some distance. He occasionally does this to his Minions to absorb some of their health. I found it best to take out all the Minions first to counteract it.

To keep some distance easier, you can step into the green water at the center of the room and gain some Agility, which allows you to phase three times by double-jumping. This is a great way to not only take out the Minions quickly but also dodge Hades’ attacks. An AR or a quick-firing SMG does the trick to get his health down. I wouldn’t try to get up close with a shotgun until he’s low health.

All Hades Drops in Fortnite

Once you defeat Hades, you can collect some of his special drops. Like all bosses, he will drop a Mythic version of a gun, the Harbinger SMG, the special weapon Chains of Hades, and a Siphon Aspect of the Gods. He can drop other items like shield pots and healing supplies alongside those guaranteed items.

The Chains of Hades are found on Hades, but you can also pick some up from chests or as ground loot all around the map, especially at the Underworld POI.

You won’t want to miss out on challenging Hades, especially for the powerful loot that he drops. Feeling confident? Head to the Underworld and give it a shot!
