How to Complete The Beast and The Princess in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

You’ve probably been hearing about a particular creature from the locals in stables across Hyrule. Only a few have actually seen these animals, and it seems they’re in a tropical area. As for The Beast and The Princess quest itself in TotK, it’s given to you by Penn, a Rito adventurer who’s been exploring Hyrule.

Where to Find Penn to Start The Beast and The Princess Quest in TotK

Penn can be found in the New Serenne Stable, northwest of Lookout Landing. If you’re heading to the Hebra region first as part of the main quest, you’ll probably end up passing by here. However, if Penn isn’t appearing for you in this particular location, then you might need to complete the Lucky Clover Gazette quest chain, which can be found just northeast of Rito Village.

To dig into the Beast and the Princess side quest in TotK, you’ll want to remember key information that stable NPCs are talking about, as well as Penn’s hint. “It’s found in a subtropical region in the south.” There’s only one valid answer here, and that’s the region of Faron.

The exact area that we’re looking for during this quest is the Lakeside Stable. To get there, I suggest tagging Skyview Towers to reveal most of the map. In my case, once I saw the Faron place name, I went directly southeast of that.

Upon arriving at Lakeside Stable, you’ll be directed to Cima and the herd of Dondons. You’ll find them just across the ridge from Lakeside Stable, at a place called Bronas Forest. These are the beasts that people have been discussing. They look like a cross between a bear and an armadillo, and they have glowing horns, too.

In any case, once you talk to Cima, Penn will appear. This will complete the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Beast and the Princess quest. You’ll also receive 100 rupees for your efforts. Don’t forget to visit our Zelda TotK guides hub for more tips and tricks.
