Overall Best TotK Item to Farm: Rupees

Many things can be accomplished with a little bit of luck and a full wallet of Rupees in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. You’ll need this crystal currency to purchase all sorts of things from shops and vendors, including gear and weapons. They’re also used to pay for upgrades. Focus on farming Rupees as early as possible by following our guide on the best ways to farm Rupees in TotK, which goes over:

  • Mining and selling gems
  • Playing the Recall mini game
  • Cooking and selling meat skewers
  • Selling unwanted armor

Arrows

The bow is an essential ranged weapon in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. But you’ll need a lot of arrows (and more if you’re like me and tend to miss from time to time). You don’t want to find yourself without any against Like Likes or hanging Horriblins. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to get arrows, which you can make more powerful by Fusing monster parts and other items to them. That’s why I’d strongly suggest checking out this guide on how to get arrows in TotK, including:

  • Buying arrows from vendors
  • Looting boxes and barrels
  • Farming bow enemies
  • Picking your arrows up off the ground if you miss

Bomb Flowers

Another important farmable weapon that you’ll definitely want to get your hands on as early as possible is the Bomb Flower. These have gotten me out of pinch after pinch, and they’re invaluable for ranged combat and blowing up secret passages. These plants with explosive fruits typically grow in the caves, wells, and underground areas. But if you really want to find as many as possible, then follow our guide on how to farm Bomb Flowers in TotK:

  • Exploring Hyrule Field Chasm
  • Raiding Royal Hidden Passage
  • Checking Lookout Landing Emergency Shelter

These things can really be found everywhere, but some places are better than others. Regardless of where you find them, always take the time to pick them up.

Diamonds

Diamond is the most valuable gem in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. One diamond sells for 500 Rupees, and you can use it as a very effective Fuse item for your weapon, adding +25 ATK bonus to it. So farming diamonds is definitely worth it. Unfortunately, there aren’t that many ways to do so. However, I’ve included a few tips in my guide for the best fuse items in TotK, going over:

  • Mining diamonds from rare gem ores
  • Opening chests inside Hyrule Castle
  • Exploring the Abandoned Hebra Mine

Zonaite

As Diamonds are to gems, Zonaite is one of the most valuable ores in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. You can use it when creating mechanisms with Ultrahand or the Autobuild ability, or you can use them for Zonai and Crystallized charges. Either way, you’ll need plenty of Zonaite — and as soon as possible. Fortunately, we have a full guide on how to get and process Zonaite in TotK, which includes:

  • Mining Zonaite on the starting island
  • Exploring the area around Temple of Time
  • Opening chests at the Wellspring Island

Guts and Horns

Monster parts, such as guts and horns, are the best items to have when it comes to improving your Fusion weapons and gear — even better than Diamonds! The rarer the monster, the more powerful its guts and horns are. For example, if you manage to farm Lynel guts in TotK, you’ll be able to add +55 ATK bonus to your weapon. Using these items will give you some of the highest damage bonuses in TotK. The best monster parts you can get are:

  • Silver Lynel guts and horns at Floating Coliseum and Crenel Canyon
  • Gibdo guts and horns at Gerudo Underground Cemetery
  • Silver Moblin guts and horns at Cresia Pit Mine and Scorching Coliseum
  • Silver Bokoblin guts and horns at Gerudo Canyon Mine and Malin Bay
  • Gleeok guts and horns at Biron Snowshelf and Gleeok Den
  • Black Boss Bokoblin horns at East Necluda
  • Black Hinox horns at Meadela’s Mantle and Jia Highlands
  • Black Lizalfos horns at Cliff Bargainer Statue and Drena Canyon Mine

Puffshrooms

Puffshrooms are often used as an armor-upgrading material, and you’ll certainly want to upgrade all of your sets for the best defensive stats possible. You can also use Puffshrooms during battles against formidable foes. If you have enough Puffshrooms in your inventory, you can throw them on the ground and create a wall of smoke that prevents monsters from attacking you. These are great against Silver Lynels, which you’ll want to farm for guts.

All this makes Puffshrooms one of the most valuable items in the game, which you can farm by doing the following:

  • Purchasing them from the Bargainer Statues for 16 Poes
  • Finding and collecting them inside the Depths near other mushrooms

Crystallized Charges

You’ll eventually start using Zonai devices quite often, making all kinds of vehicles to get around (or laser emitters to melt enemies and bosses). If you want them to run as long as possible, you’ll need to increase their energy cell capacity. The only way you to do that is to purchase Energy Wells at the Nachoya Shrine.

Energy Wells require Crystallized Charges. Usually, you can purchase Crystallized Charges at specialized shops, but you can also find them inside treasure chests. I’ve listed some of the best locations in this guide on how to get Crystallized Charges in TotK, including:

  • Purchasing from the Mine Cave Shop
  • Purchasing from the Great Abandoned Central Mine Shop
  • Looting treasure chests

Dragon Parts

Besides fighting monsters on the surface and underground, you can also ride dragons and even hunt dragons in the sky. Light Dragon parts are especially valuable, as they provide healing when fused with your weapons or shields. But there are many other types of dragons in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom that provide other strong fuse effects. You can find and farm various dragons at the following locations:

  • Around the Great Sky Island
  • Around Drenan Highlands Chasm
  • Popla Foothills Skyview Tower
  • Lanayru Skyview Tower

Fairies

Fairies are truly our saviors. They’re the only creatures in the game that can revive Link once he loses all his hearts. But be very careful when trying to catch them, as they’re very sensitive little creatures. I strongly recommend unlocking the Yiga Armor for farming fairies stealthily in TotK. Once you have that, Fairies can be found at the following locations:

  • Around the Tsutsu-um Shrine
  • South Hyrule Sky Archipelago
  • South Tabantha Snowfield

Those are the best items to farm in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Stay tuned for more Tears of the Kingdom tips and tricks articles right here.
