How to Get the Horse Towing Harness in Tears of the Kingdom

To get the Horse Towing Harness in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll need to visit a horse stable. You can find stables throughout the game, but the first one I came across was Riverside Stable, located southeast of Central Hyrule at coordinates (0333, 1093, 0010). A Horse Towing Harness costs 3 Pony Points.

Once you arrive at a stable, approach the Stablehand at the counter near the entrance and register a tamed horse. You’ll subsequently receive 2 Pony Points for registering a horse for the first time at a stable, meaning you’ll only need 1 more Pony Point to purchase a harness.

I got my last Pony Point by lodging at the stable and purchasing a bed for 20 rupees. You can do so by entering the stable hut and speaking to the Stablehand at the interior counter.

Once you’ve got 3 Pony Points, head to the Pony Point Ledger on the side of the counter. You can redeem the Horse Towing Harness from there.

How to Attach the Horse Towing Harness

Once you get the Towing Harness, you’ll quickly notice that it doesn’t come with instructions. I discovered through trial and error that it’s not an item you can directly attach yourself. Instead, you need to do so through a stablehand. Thankfully, if you just unlocked it, odds are you’re still nearby.

Speak to the Stablehand from the exterior counter and select the option “Customize Horse.” From there, you’ll be asked by the Stablehand if you’d like to attach it to your horse. Of course, you do!

How to Use the Horse Towing Harness

To use the Towing Harness, use your Ultrahand ability to attach objects to the back. You can attach whatever you’d like, but the ability of your horse to pull certain items will depend on their strength rating. Thankfully, there are eventually ways to upgrade your horse with the help of the fairy Malanya.

My favorite use of the Harness so far was reuniting two Koroks by towing the too-tired one to his friend, because, honestly, it just felt silly to drag him back to his friend by horseback. And now that you know how to get and use the Horse Towing Harness in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you might have some funny stories, too!
