Ninjis Shrine Quest Location and Requirement

The main requirement to start the Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Maca’s Special Place Shrine quest is to access Great Hyrule Forest. At the start of the game, the Deku Tree is corrupted by Gloom. Worse, a thick fog prevents you from venturing deeper.

As such, you have to cleanse the Deku Tree. This will take you to the edge of the woods before venturing forth into the Depths. Shortly afterward, you’ll reach the Korok Forest, the hub of those oft-crucified critters. You can then enter the Deku Tree Chasm to defeat the challenging foes below (we won’t spoil what you’ll encounter down there).

Assuming you’re done with those tasks, the forest will be cleansed of corruption. A thick mist still blankets most of the vicinity, which will still cause you to get teleported back to your previous location. However, most of the Koroks in the main area will be happy to talk to you.

One of those Koroks is Maca, who tells you about his cozy chilling spot. He also gives a few hints about a “green swirl” and a “sky island.” These clues imply that there’s a Shrine nearby and that you could see it from a sky island.

Fast travel to the Typhlo Ruins Skyview Tower, which is north of the forest. From there, use the launch pad to see the surrounding landscape. If you look at the woods, you’ll notice the thick fog, as well as one peculiar sight: a little section with green light. A Shrine! That’s where you need to go.

When I did this quest, I had Tulin and a couple of stamina wheels, which meant that I was able to glide from Typhlo Ruins. You’ll want to be close to or on top of the Shrine before skydiving all the way down. Be careful that you don’t drop into the fog blanketing the area, or you’ll just get teleported back to your previous position.

If you’re successful, you’ll land in front of the Shrine. Maca will show up to congratulate you, too. Unlike many of the other Shrines in the game, the TotK Ninjis Shrine doesn’t have any puzzles to solve. Enter it to receive a Mighty Construct Bow from the chest, as well as a Light of Blessing from the altar.
