Resident Evil 4 Remake: Electronic Lock Terminal Puzzles Solution

To get the Island keycard in Resident Evil 4 Remake, you'll need to solve the Electronic Lock Terminal puzzle.

You’ll encounter the Electronic Lock Puzzle in Resident Evil 4 Remake while trying to get the facility keycard on the Island. Here, you’ll need to send power to two nodes by rotating a series of blocks that turn and redirect power to different sections of the grid.

While the Electronic Lock Terminal Puzzle might sound daunting, it’s actually pretty simple. The difficult part is remembering to switch over the power so the puzzle area is operational. You’ll also need to avoid the Regenaradors to do so — but don’t worry, they won’t interrupt your puzzle-solving.

In addition, there are two more (one optional) Electronic Lock Terminal puzzles to solve later in the island. We will give you the solution to all three.

How to Bypass the Dissection Electronic Lock Terminal

You can find this first terminal marked on your map on the door to the Dissection room. Once you’ve turned the power on, go over to it to find the puzzle.

By moving the stick, you can select which of the three layers of boxes you want to select. Pressing confirm on any layer will rotate all the boxes.

You need to get the boxes to line up so that the power goes into both required nodes and the symbol on the upper right reads 2/2.

To solve the Electronic Lock, you rotate the outer layer three times. Then, you rotate the middle layer twice. You don’t need to do anything to the inner layer.

Now, lock this in by sliding the stick as far to the right as possible and hitting confirm. Once you do, the door will open and you’ll be able to get your key card.

The second Electronic Lock Terminal is found in this same area, blocking access to a door in the Freezer. This puzzle has five power nodes and four layers.

To solve this Electronic Lock, you must rotate the outer layer two times. Then, you rotate the next layer twice. And then the next layer three times. Finally, rotate the inner most layer three times and then all the nodes will light up. Confirm your selection to open the door and obtain the LE-5 submachine gun.

How to Bypass the Waste Disposal Electronic Lock Terminal

The final Electronic Lock puzzle is in Chapter 14. You will find it in Waste Disposal. This terminal has four power nodes and four layers.

To solve this Electronic Lock, you must rotate the outer layer three times. Next, rotate the following layer three times as well. For the next layer three rotations will do the trick once more. Finally, rotate the inner most layer twice to simultaneously send power to all four nodes. Now you can confirm the solution and open the door to progress.

Follow those instructions, and you’ll bypass all three of the Electronic Lock Terminal Puzzles in Resident Evil 4 Remake lickety-split. For more puzzle tips and other help with the survival horror game, head over to our guides hub for the game.
