Tales of Zestiria: Gear Fusion Guide

Everything you need to know about gear fusion.

This guide will explain gear fusion and its effects. Gear fusion is one way to make a character more powerful by combining pieces to get desired gear skills. For more on gear skills, see Synzer’s Gear Skill Guide

Gear fusion essentially takes two items of the same name and allows you to combine them at a price. However, the abilities that the product of the fusion obtains seem to be random. Sometimes two identical items give very different abilities to a single piece, so preview all options before just haphazardly combining gear.

To perform gear fusion, locate NPCs with a red icon above their heads. Click on the fuse option in their menu, and then select the proper gear category of the piece you want to fuse. Fusion requires Gald to perform; however, it’s considerably less the higher the material item’s proficiency is. For optimal fusing, figure out which piece you want to fuse, then go around and fight monsters to raise the item’s proficiency.

Sometimes gear fusion creates a locked skill. To unlock the skill, you need to raise the item’s proficiency the same way you would to optimize fusion. After that, the skill will activate like any other.

Other than that, there really isn’t anything else to gear fusion. If you have any comments, questions, or concerns, please leave them in the comments section down below.
