Diablo 4 Beta Error Code 300202 is kicking players from the game. Here's what you need to know.

Diablo 4 Error Code 300202 is an issue currently plaguing beta players and keeping them from fully enjoying early access to Blizzard’s upcoming ARPG. Since this is a testing period for the game, such hiccups are bound to appear, but they aren’t any less irksome when you’ve waited dozens of minutes — or even more than an hour — in a waiting queue.

What is Error Code 300202 in the Diablo 4 Beta?

Like Error 316719 and 34202, Error Code 300202 seems to be an issue afflicting players at random. Some never experience it, while some run into it again and again. It will typically kick players out of the game, sending them back to the main menu and forcing them to sit through a long queue yet again.

Unlike with Error 316719, it doesn’t seem that players have lost characters because of Error Code 300202, though that can’t be ruled out as a consequence of getting kicked by this issue. It could also coincide with Error 315306, unable to find valid license.

What Causes Error Code 300202?

So what causes Error Code 300202? Currently, this issue seems to be a server problem or connection problem, most likely. Multiple reports from players running into the code cite that their “game connection” was lost, which means it’s probably a server-side error that Blizzard will need to fix.

So far, it seems to appear alongside other errors, such as 316719 and 300008. Because the Diablo 4 Beta is, of course, a testing phase for the game, it’s no surprise that the servers may be overloaded.

Though it’s difficult to pinpoint currently, the bug can seemingly be triggered by a number of different actions. Correlation isn’t causation, but here are a few of the reported actions players took before running into Error Code 300202:

  • Creating a character.
  • Customizing a character.
  • Watching a cutscene.
  • Changing World Tiers.
  • Fighting enemies in-game.
  • Breaking objects.
  • Starting the game.

Is There a Fix for Error Code 300202?

As with any network problem of this nature, the most likely fix for Error Code 300202 is just to wait things out and hope the server load lightens. Considering the popularity of the Diablo 4 Beta, though, you could be waiting a long time, even in queue.

Another potential solution is checking your Internet status and ensuring your connection is working correctly. It’s possible Error Code 300202 could be client-side. It’s always worth confirming your equipment (router, etc.) is working as it should be.

One Diablo 4 forum user said that they were able to get around the issue by tweaking their graphics settings, turning things down from High to Medium, and setting their refresh rate to 60fps. We haven’t attempted this potential fix, but it’s easy to try.

Blizzard is aware of the issues and working to fix them, while also metering the number of players entering the game at once.

For now, that’s what we know on Error Code 300202 in the Diablo 4 Beta. We’ll update this guide when or if there’s an official fix, server capacity has been added, or additional information has been released. Until then, keep trying! Thank you for reading!
