Core Keeper: How to Find Copper Keys

Copper Keys aren't easy to find, but we'll tell you how to get them in this guide.

While Copper Keys aren’t a rare commodity in Core Keeper, they’re difficult to find when you really need one. You’ll run across more locked Copper Chests throughout the game than the items that open them, which can be frustrating if you want to access the treasures inside these trunks.

This guide will tell you where to find Copper Keys in Core Keeper and how to craft them to cut down on grinding.

Where to Find Copper Keys

There are a couple of ways to obtain a Copper Key in Core Keeper. One of the more obvious is trying your luck by looting chests in certain areas, which you may have already done or stumbled across:

  • Forgotten Ruins
  • Clay Caves
  • The Undergrounds
  • Larva Hive

However, the chance of finding a Copper Key in these chests is only as high as 4.55%.

You could also try your hand at fishing for Copper Keys in The Undergrounds, but the chance is even lower, coming in at roughly half the percentage of looting.

However, there’s another way to get Copper Keys in Core Keeper — crafting your own!

How to Craft Copper Keys

To craft a Copper Key, you’ll need a Key Casting Table. To build the Key Casting Table, you’ll need:

To get Scarlet Bars, follow the guide linked above. However, you’ll also need to beat the game’s first three bosses:

  • Glurch the Abominous Mass: Found within the Undergrounds.
  • Ghorm the Devourer: Found circling around in the Clay Caves and Forgotten Ruins.
  • The Hive Mother: Found in the Larve Hive.

Once you have all the necessary materials, simply build the Key Casting Table and collect 5 Copper Bars to craft your very own Copper Key.

Don’t let the endless search for Copper Keys get you down. With the tips in this guide, you’ll be well on your way to opening those Locked Copper Chests and getting free loot in no time. For more on the game, visit our Core Keeper guides hub here.
