Hand of Fate 2 Guide: How to Get the Gold Token in The Devil Challenge

Completing The Devil challenge and winning the Gold Token can be a tall task. But with the tips and tricks in this guide, you'll have it in no time.

Hand Of Fate 2 brought us more of our favorite aspects of its 2015 predecessor, and threw in some new stuff just to keep us guessing. New gameplay mechanics, new cards, and a whole new coat of paint on the graphics front.

What it also brought with it are some of the toughest, most frustrating challenges we’ve encountered in quite a while. One of the most fury-inducing has to be The Devil: a challenge that’s hard enough to beat on its own merit — and that’s not considering the added difficulty that is the Gold Token.

However, we’ve done a little research, struck a few bargains with some infernal sources, and come up with some of the best tips we could find for bringing down The Devil with the Gold token in Hand of Fate 2.

The Gold Token End Goal: A Drink With Theophilus

The key to winning the Gold Token during The Devil challenge in Hand of Fate 2 is saving all of your companions, along with Theophilus, through the Grey Traveler card story line. This involves making sure that Theophilus himself can drink from the mysterious vial at the end of your trials.

This is a tough map, but it’s not as difficult as it seems.

How To Beat The Devil in Hand of Fate 2

The Devil challenge is full of puzzles and challenges, but the real kicker comes during the final map, where you must complete Theophilus’ mysterious recipe and rescue Estrella.

The best way to go about this comes in the form of the Desert Trek card. If you can reveal this card on the final map, it will fill the area with Desert Crossing cards, allowing you to bypass the final Lord Apollyon card and go directly to the Imperial Justice card, where Estrella awaits.

Assuming you’ve given Theophilus his vial to drink willingly, you’re just one big Imperial brawl away from getting the Devil’s Gold Token.

Some Things To Consider

First and foremost, how do you get the Desert Trek card? Fortunately, this is one you can get pretty early on — if you haven’t already. The Caravan Raid card will give you four opportunities to pick a caravan clean through the card wheel challenge. When you’re attempting the card wheel, keep your eyes on a card with a map on it. That’s the one you want. By getting the map card on the card wheel, you’ll obtain the Caravan Raid token, which translates to the Desert Trek card.

It’s also important to bear in mind that the Imperial Justice card on the final map will bring you down to 50% of your health, so do your best to keep your eye on equipment cards, encounters, and blessings that can help you be prepared for that. It’s your final battle during the challenge, and you don’t want to get caught with your pants down!

So that’s how you get The Devil’s Gold Token in Hand Of Fate 2. What challenges have left you frustrated? Let us know, and we’ll see what we can do to help!
