Your Chocobo is an important part of some tasks. I recommend getting it on Day 2. In this guide I’ll cover finding the Angel of Valhalla.
The Angel of Valhalla:
The Angel of Valhalla is a legendary white chocobo that you need to find so that you can access certain areas in the Wilderlands. To start the quest, head to Canopus Farms and speak with the NPCs.
After you talk to all the NPCs, head northeast to the icon on the map. Approach from the south path, the west path is blocked off. While moving, avoid the Behemoth type monster called Reaver. At this point in the game they are more powerful than your character. This is of course assuming you don’t have any DLC gear.
Upon reaching the marker, you’ll see the white chocobo on the ground with a giant green monster called Chocobo Eater. You will need to kill the Chocobo Eater. This fight is no pushover, make sure you have potions.
Chocobo Eater:
Like I said, this fight is no walk in the park. I recommend saving before fighting so you don’t have to lose time if you fail. Set Lightning or Wind elemental abilities into your Schemata with the corresponding Electronica or Woodwalker garb. Make sure you also prepare a heavy physical damage Schemata for this fight as well.
For a basic strategy, use Lightning or Wind element abilities to stagger it. After it’s staggered, use physical attacks on its stomach to double stagger. This allows for easier future staggers. While it’s staggered unleash as much damage on it as possible. Make sure you guard against attacks, the Chocobo Eater hits hard.
If you follow this strategy, you shouldn’t have any trouble defeating the Chocobo Eater.
After defeating the chocobo eater, the white chocobo is taken to Canopus Farms. You’ll be tasked with helping the chocobo recover, which I’ll cover in my next guide.
