Injustice: Gods Among Us continues to flesh out their roster of DC heroes and villains. One popular set is the Red Sons. These alternate universe characters are from a world where the Justice League formed in the Cold War Era Soviet Union, so their styles, costumes and outlook are very different from a world where Superman pursues Truth, Justice and the American Way.
Added to the already strong roster of Superman, Wonder Woman, Deathstroke and Grundy comes Red Son Batman.
Red Son characters all have the passive ability to aid other Red Son teammates, which is a good incentive to have a full team of three Red Son characters. For Red Son Batman, however, his passive is All Red Son teammates receive a chance for unblockable attacks on Special 1 (or first special attack).
While this follows the Red Son tradition, some players may still prefer a sure thing like a damage or health boost percentage, as opposed to a random result.
Beware the Batman, Comrade.
You will have 18 days to complete the challenge and you start with 25 Challenge Credits to pay for each battle. You will need to buy more in the Shop or earn them by playing regular battles to finish all five series of challenges.
For each set of battles completed, you get a part of Red Son Batman’s gear (Fur Hat, Gloves, Utility Belt, Cape, Boots). Once you have won all five challenges, a Gold Level Batman Red Son is added to your collection.
But, you don’t need to complete them all to win something.
- 2 Challenges Completed – Free Bronze Booster Pack (worth 8,000 credits)
- 3 Challenges Completed – +15,000 Power Credits
- 4 Challenges Completed – Free Silver Booster Pack (worth 35,000 credits)
Once the Standard Challenge is completed, players can then try the Expert level version and up to Nightmare level.
Bane of Stalin
- Challenge 1: Bronze Characters Only – Nightwing and Deathstroke are always good. Bronze Harley Quinn’s first attack is actually strong.
- Challenge 2: Lex Luthor Must Be On Your Team – If you have Krypto Lex great, otherwise opt for Insurgency.
- Challenge 3: Bronze or Silver Characters Only – I always prefer characters with strong 2nd level attacks.
- Challenge 4: Joker Must Be On Your Team – Killing Joke Joker is wildcard to have in your deck, but either Gold Jokers’ passive is good.
- Challenge 5: Catwoman Must Be On Your Team – Only the Batman Returns version is Gold level, but the silver Catwoman’s second attack is pretty strong.
Holy Other Dimensions, Batman!
On the alternate universe Earth-30, an unknown Russian citizen becomes a vigilante after seeing his parents gunned down by the captain of Stalin’s secret police.
For twenty years, he became the scourge of Red Son Superman and Stalin’s regime and a hero of the people, avenging the thousands who died under their oppressive thumb.
And he almost succeeded. After capturing Wonder Woman, Batman attacks Superman with beams of red sun light with plans to imprison him forever.
But, before he could seal up Stalin’s greatest weapon, Wonder Woman managed to escape and disable the red beams. However, the mysterious Batman not willing to face imprisonment, detonated a personal bomb.
Though he died, Red Son Batman became a legacy and inspired other heroes to stand against the Regime. Oddly, this Batman will actually help the other Red Son’s, not fight against them.
