There are a million and one things to do in Fallout 76, and the Wild Appalachia update brought along even more. Now you have the option to complete challenges for earning scout badges.
Any aspiring medics may have noticed that something called a Stimpak Diffuser is required to complete the medic badge as part of The Order Of The Tadpole quest.
Unfortunately, there’s just one slight snag: this item and its crafting recipe don’t actually exist. However, you can still get the badge. Read on to find out how.
How Do You Make A Stimpak Diffuser? You Can’t!
Yep, Bethesda added a requirement for a badge that you can’t possibly complete — no matter where you search or what items you make. Whoops.
Note that this not-so-minor oversight doesn’t actually prevent you from completing the quest. You just have to work through a different badge challenge. There are dozens of them, and you only need to finish three badges to complete the quest.
The non-existence of the Stimpak Diffuser has been added to Bethesda’s “known issues” list for fixes to be handled in an upcoming patch. Here’s what the devs had to say about the problem:
STATUS: The Stimpak Diffuser is a Stimpak that restores health to you and your nearby teammates. The recipe for this item will be available in the next update. We’re aware that this creates an issue with completing the Tadpole Challenge referencing the Stimpak Diffuser, however you may still complete other world Challenges to earn badges.
At the moment, it looks like the recipe will most likely be acquired by completing either the Unsolved: Best of Intentions quest or the Project Paradise quest. However, that’s just a guess from the community as the specifics of where it will be acquired remain a mystery at this point.
