Fallout 76‘s Snallygaster was born of failed Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV) experimentation. With acid spit and a long tongue it can use like a whip, the Snallygaster is a ferocious creature in the Appalachian Wasteland. For those hunting it, here’s where to find the Snallygaster in Fallout 76

Fallout 76 Snallygaster Location

Though there is one quest where you are guaranteed to run into them, Snallygasters can regularly be found in some other locations as well. They are usually found in groups, and are most prevalent in irradiated or toxic environments. You can always find them in the following two spots:

  • Toxic Larry’s Meat ‘n Go
  • Between the Charleston Capital Building and Hornwright Industrial Headquarters in Charleston

Snallygaster Spawn Points:

  • Pylon V-13
  • Federal Disposal Field HZ-21
  • The flooded trainyard on the edge of Cranberry Bog
  • Kiddie Corner Cabins
  • Treetops
  • The crashed vertibird behind Hemlock Holes

A Snallygaster will be encountered in Vault 96 as part of “A Satisfied Conscience” quest.

How to Kill a Snallygaster

There are a few different variations of the Snallygaster wandering the Wasteland, but all of them are immune to radiation damage.

These monsters will spit acid balls that deal poison damage when at a distance, then run up to you and either scratch or tongue lash. Hitting them in the head will cause 150% more damage then hitting in the body.

Snallygaster Drops

Snallygasters will typically drop:

  • Waste Acid
  • Snallygaster Hide
  • Raw Asbestos.

Glowing Snallygasters can also drop Nuclear Waste, Glowing Blood, and Glowing Meat.

That is where to find Snallygasters, how to kill them, and what they’re prone to dropping. If you need help with other mutated creatures or quests, check out our other Fallout 76 guides.
