Is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor crashing on PC for you? Here are some potential fixes for the issue.

To say that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has had a rocky launch is putting it lightly. PC players especially have run into errors and issues left and right, with crashing being just one of the many problems affecting the platform. While some can’t get the game to launch, others are experiencing crashes on startup, after the title screen, or following Survivor‘s first cutscene. Here are some potential fixes if you’re running into this roadblock.

How to (Potentially) Fix Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Crashing

Typically, any possible fixes to an issue like crashing — no matter where it occurs — are hit-and-miss. Some suggestions work for some players, while none work for others. Nothing’s guaranteed. I’ve even spoken with some players that haven’t had many issues at all!

Below, we’ll go over some basic troubleshooting methods just to get the easy stuff out of the way. Here are a few things to try first if you have Jedi Survivor crashing on PC.

  • Close Jedi Survivor and restart the game.
  • Completely close Steam/EGS/EA via Task Manager and restart.
  • Update Jedi Survivor to the latest Day Zero patch.
  • Update Steam/EGS/EA.
  • Verify the integrity of your game files.
  • Update to the latest graphics drivers.
  • Disable any third-party apps/services that may conflict with your launchers.
  • End background processes that could eat up valuable RAM.
  • Double-check your VPN, antivirus, and firewall settings.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Run Jedi Survivor as an administrator.

As noted in my guide with steps to (maybe) fix Jedi Survivor not launching, some have also pointed toward issues with the EA App causing crashes on PC. It’s worth running through the same steps to see if one of them works.

  • Repair the EA app, then launch Jedi Survivor
  • Unlink your launcher accounts from your EA account, then relink them.
  • Uninstall the EA app and reinstall it.
  • Additionally, end the EA Background Service process.

Lastly, make sure you meet the system requirements for Jedi Survivor, as that could potentially be the issue:

Minimum Specs

  • OS: Windows 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-7700 or Ryzen 5 1400
  • RAM: 8GB
  • GPU: GTX 1070 or Radeon RX 580 (both 8GB VRAM)
  • DirectX 12

Recommended Specs

  • OS: Windows 64-bit
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-11600K or Ryzen 5 5600X
  • RAM: 16GB
  • GPU: RTX 2070 or RX 6700 XT (both 8GB VRAM)
  • DirectX 12

If you’re still having issues and can’t get anything to work, submit a bug report to EA, adding yours to the millions of voices crying out in terror.

Lastly, it’s worth considering your graphics and performance settings, since those can greatly impact issues like crashing. We have a guide to the best Jedi Survivor settings for PC here

As of now, those are some of the only solutions for Jedi Survivor crashing on PC. At the end of the day, this poorly optimized version will need some love and attention through patches and updates, which would hopefully be coming soon.
