Hogwarts Legacy: How to Use Floo Powder

If you’ve unlocked travel via Floo Powder by progressing through the main story, you’ve come across little Floo Flames around Hogwarts and beyond. Once you walk by them, they activate as fast travel points. When I first unlocked them, I was confused about what to do with those green Floo Flames on the walls. They have the fast travel icon but you cannot interact with them in any way.

The confusing element is that even though they activate and signify travel points, you don’t actually use them. Instead, in order to fast travel with Floo Powder, you just need to use the map:

  • Open up your pause menu.
  • Go to the Map.
  • Select any location you visited.
  • Then, select the specific Floo Flame you passed by in that location and “Travel” to it.

For example, if you’ve visited the Central Hall Floo Flame in The Library Annex, then select the Library and then the Central Hall Flame and hit “Travel”. This will teleport you to that specific Floo Flame. Note that you unlock more Floo Flame locations as you progress through the story.

To sum up, you don’t use Floo Powder/Flame locations to fast travel, instead, you travel to them via your Map if you’ve visited them before.
