Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dyes: Can You Change the Color of Your Armor?

Find out if you can change the color of your armor in Dragon's Dogma 2, including tips on how to find dyes.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 dyes can help you change the color of your skin, teeth, hair, and other body parts. But is it possible to change the color of your armor as well? In this guide, I’ll explain what dye is, how to find it, and whether it can be applied to armor in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Can You Change the Color of Your Armor and Clothing in DD2?

Currently, Dragon’s Dogma 2 dyes do not allow you to change the color of your armor and clothing. You can find different variations of color schemes for similar armor sets, but you can’t actually change their colors.

Dyes are special items in Dragon’s Dogma 2, which can be applied to your character’s appearance. They can change the colors of your skin, teeth, hair, eyes, makeup, and tattoos. They can be found as soon as you enter Bakbattahl outside of The Rockmouse’s Burrow tavern, which is filled with pawns. There’s a pawn shop outside of it titled Bakbattahl Pawn Guild. Talk to the merchant, and he’ll sell you various colored dyes for your gear.

Because so many players have wanted color-changing features on armor to be implemented in the game since the first installment in the series, I hope the developer will listen to its fans. So it’s totally possible that we’ll get an expansion in the near future, which will include the option to change the color of armor and clothing in the game.

How to Find Dragon’s Dogma 2 Dyes

For example, I can visit Clovis’s Barberie at the Merchant Quarter in Vernworth to quickly apply some dye of my preference. But I discovered a much better place to do so, and that would be Mettefere’s Cosmetics at Bakbattahl (see on the map below), which offers a much wider array of unique colors that are applicable without any restrictions.

Here, you can purchase various dyes from a merchant named Alexia, found behind the Pawn Guild in the capital of Battahl. Here’s a complete list of all dyes available, with prices:

  • Red Dye: 500 Rift Crystals
  • Green Dye: 500 Rift Crystals
  • Blue Dye: 500 Rift Crystals
  • Yellow Dye: 500 Rift Crystals
  • Purple Dye: 500 Rift Crystals

That’s it for my guide on what dye is and how to find it in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Stay tuned for more DD2 tips and tricks articles, including a romance guide & NPC options.
