We’re at the end of Fortnite‘s insane Season 4, but there’s still a few more changes and additions to the gameplay before the map changes yet again with the Season 5 opening. With the latest patch, the devs at Epic Games have added a new drum gun to the mix.

The infamous stink bomb just made the transition from Battle Royale to Save The World mode (and those of us who still play Save The World thank you for that, Epic Games!). However, the brand-new weapon has arrived for Battle Royale players — and it has the stopping power of a rifle and the fire rate of an SMG.

Here’s what you need to know about the Tommy Gun, a.k.a. the Drum Gun.

Fortnite Drum Gun New Weapon

The drum gun features a high-capacity magazine and quick rate of fire. However, it has lower accuracy and mild recoil, much like the recently released dual pistols. This retro weapon can be found in floor drops and chests, and it comes in two main varieties — uncommon and rare.

Both varieties use medium ammo and deal more damage than the SMG, so this may become the go-to gun for quick rates of fire and high damage in many Battle Royale matches.

The drum gun is an excellent first choice weapon for firing down a corridor, taking down an enemy wall, or getting off damage at range before closing with a shotgun. Just be sure to have a backup in place for when your drum runs dry!
