If you’re looking to fix the Skyward Sword windmill propeller and trying to find its location, get ready for a few detours. The quest has two stages and requires you to repair Gondo’s little friend before you can actually get what you’re looking for.
Then you have to dowse to find it. But fortunately, you’ve already visited the Windmill Propeller location — you just have to dig it up. Here’s everything you need to know about the Skyward Sword propeller.
Fix Scrapper the Robot
The first step is fixing Gondo’s scrap-collecting robot. Speak with him in the Bazaar at the workbench, and he’ll tell you to collect Ancient Flowers. These grow in a few key places in Lanayru Desert.
Ancient Flower Locations
There are three areas you can get the Ancient Flower, but these two are the easiest. The first is near the southern-most bird statue near the desert’s entrance. Activate the Time Shift stone, and climb up the vines that appear.
Exit the Temple of Time and go to the eastern edge of the gorge there. Activate the Time Shift stone, then gather the two flowers using your handy beetle.
Windmill Propeller Location
Take the flowers back to Gondo, and you’ll see an amusing cutscene between Scrapper and Fi. Now, when dowsing, you can call Scapper to haul things back to the surface for you.
Head to the Eldin Region and the Earth Temple. The spot you’re looking for is where the first Eldin Key piece is hidden. Go there, use your dowsing, and tell Fi yes, you want Scrapper to come and collect the windmill propeller.
Now is the easy part. Watch the cutscene unfold, then use the Bellows to activate the windmill.
