Monster Hunter Rise: How to Get Meaty Hide

Meaty Hide in Monster Hunter Rise is an easy item to get in theory, but the monster it comes from is rather attached to it.

Monster Hunter Rise Meaty Hide is a common crafting item that’s straightforward enough to find, but that doesn’t mean it’s “easy” to get. It comes from only one monster, and that lives in just one place. You’ve probably encountered it without even realizing you had.

This Monster Hunter Rise guide tells you everything you need to know about getting your hands on Meaty Hide. It shows up in several crafting recipes, so plan on revisiting the Frost Islands more than once.

Where to Find Meaty Hide in Monster Hunter Rise

This Monster Hunter Rise crafting material comes from Zamite, giant leech monsters that live in the Frost Islands region. You can technically find them in several parts of the map.

  • Sector 4
  • Sector 7
  • Sector 8
  • Sector 10
  • Sector 11

However, we’ve had the most luck finding Zamite in Sectors 8, 10, and 11.

Zamite are lesser monsters and a bit of a nuisance. They’ll attach themselves to you and slowly sap your health, but that’s actually a good thing. After you remove the Zamite, it’ll be engorged and give you an extra chance to carve it. That’s good, since you only have a 38% chance of getting Meaty Hide.

If you’re after plain Meaty Hide, make sure to only search for Zamite during Low-Rank quests. High-Rank Zamite drop Meaty Hide +, which isn’t the same thing at all.

What is Meaty Hide for in Monster Hunter Rise?
