The Turret Puzzle is part of the first major combat area in the Resident Evil 4 remake‘s third section, the Island. Before trying to solve it, we recommend clearing out all the enemies first. Rotatable turrets in the area will shred you to pieces, so be on the lookout. You’ll also need to know where they’re located to solve the puzzle later.
There are three turrets in the combat arena, and you can move each of them between one of two positions by interacting with them.
- The first turret is at the start of the area.
- The second turret is on the upper level of a bombed-out building in the middle of the area.
- The third turret blocks the stairs to the door that leads forward.
- If you simply try and move this turret, you’ll find yourself trapped between two lasers that will splice Leon into a million pieces.
With that out of the way, here is what you need to do to solve the Turret Puzzle and get to the other side of this dangerous stretch of the Resident Evil 4 remake alive.
How to Solve the Turret Puzzle in the Resident Evil 4 Remake

Solving the Turret Puzzle is a two-step process, and you only have to move two lasers forward.
Backtrack to the second turret. You can approach it from behind by going into the bombed-out building with a ladder on the right side of the area. Climb up and activate the turret on the roof. This opens up a path for you later.
Go back down to the stairs leading out. Head left and around a path that will lead you to the back of the turret blocking the stairs. Don’t move it because it will block you from going directly ahead. Instead, go back through the buildings on the left side of the area and vault over the waist-high walls inside to avoid the laser.
Now, you can cross to the other side of the road and be able to run and vault back to the end of the area, where the stairs are. This time, you’re on the other side of the laser from the third turret. You’re now free to climb and enter the next part of the Island.
