Comic Books are a type of collectible in The Last of Us Part 1. These are issues of the Savage Starlight series, which Ellie seems to love reading. While Comics don’t do anything to boost your character skills, you’ll still receive some related achievements for finding all Comic Book locations. There are 14 in total to collect.
Where to Find All Comic Books and Locations in The Last of Us Part 1
The first Comic Book you pick up (not get) during your playthrough will reward you with the “Savage Starlight Fan” achievement. Then, once you’ve found all The Last of Us Part 1 Comic Books, you’ll receive the “Endure and Survive” achievement. The good thing is that, in case you do miss any Comics, you can check the Chapters menu to see which ones you still need to find.
In any case, we’ve listed these TLOU Part 1 collectibles below, noting the chapter and segment where you’ll discover the Comic locations.
Pittsburgh Comic Books
Comic Book #1 Location: Force Carrier — Alone and Forsaken

This Comic Book is automatically obtained after the cutscene at the start of this chapter. This is the same Comic Book that Ellie was reading during the cutscene, so it should be in your inventory. Since this isn’t picked up at all, you won’t receive the “Savage Starlight Fan” achievement just yet.
Comic Book #2 Location: Termination Shock — Alone and Forsaken

After leaving the initial area through the garage, you’ll find yourself on a road that leads to the main section. The collectible is inside the wreckage of a bus.
Comic Book #3 Location: Accretion — Hotel Lobby

Progress further in this part until Ellie saves Joel from the thug. After climbing up the ladder, shimmy across the gap and pick this Comic up from a table.
Comic Book #4 Location: Deep Phase — Escape the City

Once Sam and Henry have joined you, leave their apartment and go down one flight of stairs. You should see a room that can be unlocked with a Shiv. The collectible is on a computer desk.
The Suburbs Comic Books
Comic Book #5 Location: Antiparticles — Sewers

This The Last of Us Part 1 Comic Book in The Suburbs is found at the beginning of this chapter. Once you’re able to control Joel, head to the shipwreck by the river. Enter the boat’s bridge/control room to grab this Comic Book.
Comic Book #6 Location: Messenger Particle — Suburbs

Later, the group will arrive at an abandoned subdivision. This Comic location is in a bedroom in the house at the end of the winding street (near where two dogs are barking).
Tommy’s Dam Comic Books
Comic Book #7 Location: Foreign Element — Hydroelectric Dam

At the start of this chapter, you’ll go down a pathway along the river. Off to the side, you should see a car wreck. Grab the collectible from there.
Comic Book #8 Location: Zero Point — The Ranch

A bit later, Joel and Tommy will have to search for Ellie, eventually coming across a large ranch. Check one of the bedrooms on the second floor and you’ll spot this Comic Book on a dresser.
University Comic Book
Comic Book #9 Location: Free Radicals — Go Big Horns

When this chapter begins, backtrack up the sloping road until you see a car. There’s a collectible here that you can pick up.
Lakeside Resort Comic Books
Comic Book #10 Location: Uncertainty — The Hunt

The next couple of Comic Books in The Last of Us Part 1 are found while you’re controlling Ellie. After shooting the deer, you’ll reach an abandoned hut with a Warren Coral Mining sign. You’ll find this item inside a drawer.
Comic Book #11 Location: Negentropy — Cabin Resort

Proceed until the point where Ellie ends up at the resort exterior. As you advance further, you’ll crawl through a drainpipe before stumbling upon the gate that leads to the main cabin. There’s a section just before the gate with a bench, and you’ll find the Comic location.
Bus Depot Comic Books
Comic Book #12 Location: Precipitate — Highway Escape

This collectible can be found after the cutscene where you pet the giraffe but before you reach the main encampment with FEDRA tents. As you make your way down the steps, you’ll see a holding area. Check the bathroom to find this item.
Comic Book #13 Location: Catalysis — Underground Tunnel

Well after going through the tunnel that’s crawling with infected, there’s a section where you have to bring a ladder to Ellie. Walk to the edge of the vent to pick this Comic up.
Jackson Comic Book
Comic Book #14 Location: Singularity — Epilogue

This is the final Comic Book in The Last of Us Part 1. Upon gaining control of Ellie, check the right-hand side of the wooded area to find a truck. This item is in the driver’s seat.
