In Ghost of Tsushima, you’ll come across mysterious locations, shrines, and points of interest that are begging to be discovered. One specific example is the White Leafed Tree, which is part of The Heavenly Strike side quest.
However, the game doesn’t specifically tell you how to find the White Leafed Tree, so in this guide, we’ll give you its exact location, as well as the rewards you get for finding it.
The Heavenly Strike Side Quest
While it is possible to find the White Leafed Tree while exploring the world separately, your first interaction with it will likely be as you attempt to complete The Heavenly Strike mission.
To start the mission, you’ll need to talk to the musician in the River Falls Bridge area, to the northeast of Brown River Gorge in the Komatsu section of Izuhara.
Talk to the person, and you’ll have a couple of objectives to overcome, like speaking to a woman and searching a watchtower. After the watchtower, you’ll be prompted to locate the White Leafed Tree.
White Leafed Tree Location
If you’re in the middle of The Heavenly Strike mission, you should be aware of the tree’s general location. Use the map above for guidance.
In essence, you need to head to the start of the Plum Blossom Shrine, which is located to the north of Brown River Gorge.
From the Plum Blossom Shrine torii gates, head up the path until you reach a burning pile of wood blocking your path. Take a left up the alternate route and follow the linear path, jumping across tree branches and squeezing through the rocks.
Keep jumping across the tree branches, and go past the broken, burning bridge. At this point, you’ll see the shrine ahead, with the White Leafed Tree on the right.
Jump across the gap to the right of the shrine and squeeze through the rocks that sit right beside the tree. When you arrive, you’ll need to survey the area to discover the White Tree Grove.
Rewards for Finding the White Leafed Tree
Depending on when you reach this area, you’ll have two different rewards. The first, and most obvious, is that discovering this area is necessary to complete The Heavenly Strike mission.
Finding the White Leafed Tree will lead you to the White Leafed Grove, which is just past the halfway point of the quest. Completing the quest will reward you with the following:
- Minor Legend Increase
- The Heavenly Strike technique
- Heavenly Falcon sword kit
Alternatively, if you come back to this area before the start of the quest, or after you’ve finished it, a corpse will appear with supplies, and you’ll be rewarded with a Technique Point for searching the body.
