The Sims 4

The Sims 4 Box Art

A simulation title ever-growing in size and scope, The Sims 4 allows you to live out your dream life or manage the lives of an entire family through its trials and tribulations -- all with a touch of whimsy you just don't get with the real thing.

The Sims 4 returns to the series' single household roots, in stark contrast to the more open world of The Sims 3, as a tradeoff for more complex moods, relationships, the ability to for sims to do more than one thing at once, and ultimately more intuitive gameplay and storytelling. It's also the one entry to the series that has genuine console ports, meaning you don't have to accept a different game under The Sims' name if you want to play on PlayStation or Xbox.

The Sims 4 is still going strong in 2021, with 11 expansion packs plus a whole host of content packs to add more to the game should you so choose.
