The Sims 4: Is There a Changing Table in the Base Game?

With infants now in The Sims 4, you may be looking for the changing table to keep those pesky dirty diapers in check.

Players of The Sims 4 who’ve been excited for the free infant update that came out yesterday have been wondering if there are Changing Tables in the base game. Some content creators showed the furniture item during their pre-release coverage, and the community at large was under the impression they’d be included with the infant update, so what gives?

Where is The Sims 4 Changing Table?

Unfortunately, Changing Tables were not added to the base game with the infant update, leaving parent Sims to toss dirty diapers all over their homes. Instead, EA expects The Sims 4 players to buy the Growing Together expansion pack to get this critical furniture item.

If you’ve already pre-ordered or simply intend to get Growing Together, the omission of the Changing Table from the base game may not seem like a big deal. However, this does mean if you’d prefer to keep your Sims child-having households immersive, you’ll have to get the Growing Together expansion.

There’s lots to look forward to in Growing Together; we’ve got an article going over the biggest additions in this expansion. But it’s very possible that The Sims 4 modding community will step up and find a solution for the dirty diaper situation in the base game for those who don’t get the expansion.

Look for the Growing Together expansion for Changing Tables and more tomorrow, March 16, 2023, at 10 a.m. PST / 1 p.m. EST. We’ve got more guides for The Sims 4 coming with and beyond the expansion.
