Where to Find Sharks in Sons of the Forest

There are several places where players can locate great white sharks, an they are:

  • Inside the Rebreather cave
  • Around survival raft
  • Around helicopter pads
  • Along the northern coast

Sons of the Forest players typically encounter sharks when they try to get a Rebreather and a Stun Gun from the cave that is located in the north of the island (x6475, y3517). The cave splits into two paths, and the shark usually appears in the left one. If you manage to get the Stun Gun before you meet the shark, then using it against the shark would be very effective.

The next best location to encounter a shark would be the western coast of the island, where you try to get a GPS navigator from the survival raft (x2997,
y5841). Once you swim and try to reach the raft off the coast, a shark or two may appear swimming around.

How to Kill Sharks in Sons of the Forest

If you have a compact pistol or even a simple bow or spears, you can easily kill a great white shark with a few precise shots. But you need to work out the following conditions:

  • Do not let the shark near you, or it will bite and probably kill your character.
  • Gain upper ground by shooting it from above either from the land or by standing on top of the raft.
  • Let it swim around and shoot only when it slows down, as 2-3 precise bullet shots or arrows can actually kill the shark this way.

You will notice that the shark is dead when it flips on its belly and floats on the surface of the water.

Note that you can’t loot a shark or get any rewards for killing it. You simply save your character’s life by killing it, or you could get the “Need a Bigger Boat” achievement by letting yourself get eaten by the shark in the game, which is a reference to the “Jaws” movie.
