One of the biggest additions to Destiny 2‘s The Witch Queen expansion has to be the new weapon crafting system. With it, guardians are now able to fully customize and tailor weapons to suit their playstyles. And this requires Neutral Element. With that in mind, you’re likely here because you’re wondering how to get the material.

As has always been, crafting requires materials that are quite difficult to come by, and Neutral Element is no exception. In this Destiny 2 guide, we’ll go over exactly how to get this material as quickly as possible.

How to Get Neutral Element in Destiny 2: The Witch Queen

The quickest way to get Neutral Element is by attuning weapons with the Deepsight Resonance trait. These weapons will have a red outline around them in your inventory. However, Deepsight Resonance weapons are tough to earn; they only drop randomly after completing activities such as The Wellspring. This means that there is some luck involved when trying to farm for Deepsight Resonance weapons and therefore, Neutral Element.

In order to earn Neutral Element, you must fill up your weapon’s Attunement Progress bar until it reaches 100%. This can be done while simply playing the game as usual by defeating enemies or completing activities with the weapon equipped.

If you do not enjoy using some of these weapons, you can always run an activity and then switch to a weapon with Deepsight Resonance at the end, which will count towards your progress.

How to Extract Resonance for Neutral Element

After the progress bar is full, the Deepsight Resonance weapon will have an exclamation mark that indicates you are now able to extract resonance from it. Simply inspect the weapon and claim one of the Resonant Elements available to you. Different elements offer different materials, but they all grant 200 Neutral Element regardless of your choice. Now, just rinse and repeat until you have enough Neutral Element to craft the weapons you need.

There are also other ways to earn Neutral Element, such as leveling up your crafted weapons, which earns you 15 Neutral Element per level. While this doesn’t seem like it much, it is still worth it in the long run as this will give you access to more traits when crafting. Neutral Element can also be earned by completing certain Witch Queen quests and activities in the Throne World
