Population Zero Weapons Guide for Early Access

Tier-0 Weapons
  • Stone Hammer
  • Stone Knife

At the very beginning of Population Zero, you can craft two of the simplest stone weapons in the game: the stone hammer and the stone knife.

These can be unlocked in the technology tree for one theory point each. You will also need to find a couple of stones on the ground before you can craft them.

Tier-1 Weapons
  • Bone Sword
  • Bone Axe
  • Bone Spear
  • Bone Hammer

Once you have a hammer or a knife at your disposal, you can start hunting Kvars in the area near hub. Kvars will drop bones, which can be used for crafting bone weapons, such as the Bone Sword, the Bone Axe, the Bone Spear, and the Bone Hammer.

Just like stone weapons, each bone weapon requires one theory point to unlock However, bone weapons are much more durable and deal with beasts much faster, so it’s worth getting them as quickly as possible.

Tier-2 Weapons
  • Metal Sword
  • Metal Axe
  • Metal Spear
  • Metal Hammer

The next tier of weapons is much stronger than bone weapons. But in order to craft metal weapons, you need to obtain metal hull fragments, which can be located in sectors G11 and D11 on the map.

Once you have some metal, you can unlock one of the metal weapons by spending three theory points.

Tier-3 Weapons
  • Xenofungus Sword
  • Xenofungus Axe
  • Xenofungus Spear
  • Xenofungus Hammer

The next tier of weapons will require you to use a workbench, which can be found on the top floor of the hub right behind Radov.

Before crafting xenofungus weapons, you must obtain xenofungus, which is a large blue mushroom. This species can be located in the southern part of the map in the snow region.

When you have obtained the xenofungus pieces, you need to temper them in the fireplace at the hub, and then unlock xenofungus weapons at the tech tree by paying 10 theory points.

Lastly, approach the workbench at the hub and craft one of the xenofungus weapons of your choice.

Tier-4 Weapons
  • Scyphopod Sword
  • Scyphopod Axe
  • Scyphopod Spear
  • Scyphopod Hammer

The last tier of weapons is currently the most powerful and durable type of weapons in Population Zero.

Scyphopod is an alien material, which can be obtained from scyphopod plants, an alien species that also grow in the snow region. Once you have the scyphopod plant, use it to craft new scyphopod weapons at the workbench.

In order to unlock the scyphopod technology you need to have at least six points in the Geodesy science branch and 25 theory points.

Then, you can take on the Scyphopod boss in the Hive region, which would is hard to beat with any other weapon.

That’s all for Population Zero weapons, but be sure to come back soon for more related guides at the game’s hub page.
