When Will Counter Strike 2 Release? — Answered

Counter Strike 2 will release sometime in summer 2023. Valve hasn’t yet shared anything beyond that release window just yet. The overhauled, free update to CS: GO was just announced after all. Fans will have to wait a little bit longer to know the exact CS2 release date. And we’ll be sure to update this article as soon as we know more.

It’s worth noting, too, that Counter Strike 2 will only be on PC as of now. Valve has not mentioned anything about a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S release date for CS2. It’s been over 10 years since a Counter Strike game was brought to PlayStation or Xbox platforms, and though it would be nice for CS to hit new consoles, there’s nothing confirmed (nor denied) just yet.

Until then, some lucky players will be selected to participate in the Counter Strike 2 Limited Test, which is rolling out now as of March 22, 2023.

According to a Valve CS2 FAQ page, those selected to participate will be selected by the development team based on several factors, “including (but not limited to) recent playtime on Valve official servers, trust factor, and Steam account standing.” So get out there and rack up some playtime on CS: GO

That’s what we currently know about the Counter Strike 2 release date. Again, we’ll update this article with new information when it becomes available. Stay tuned.
