A Candle in the Storm Guide: Should You Support or Oppose Nadinia in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Here's my choice guide for A Candle in the Storm in Dragon's Dogma 2 where I discuss should you agree or disagree with Nadinia's offer.

Once you meet Menella at the Volcanic Camp, she’ll give you a quest to find the true culprit behind Nadinia’s attempted assassination. You’ll go back to Bakbattahl and talk to some NPCs, which will end in an important choice. Here’s how to complete a Candle in the Storm in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Should You Agree or Disagree With Nadinia in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

For the best ending, I supported Nadinia and then unsheathed my weapon with Irmhild. Once you talk to every NPC in A Candle in the Storm by following markers, you’ll come across a crucial choice once you reach Nadinia in the shack at the location above.

There are three outcomes of this quest. They depend on whether you support or oppose Nadinia’s offer and what you do with Irmhild, who’s behind the assassination. Here are all the outcomes for this quest:

  • Disagree with Nadinia (Bad Ending): If you disagree with Nadinia and use a body double, Irmhild as the mastermind behind the assassination will come in and recognize that it isn’t Nadinia. This prompts a fight where Irmhild will escape and you and Menella will lose the chance to capture her and learn of her intentions.
  • Agree with Nadinia (Good & Best Ending): If you agree with Nadinia’s offer that she herself should be the bait, Irmhild recognizes Nadinia and doesn’t call reinforcements. She’ll reveal herself, confirming that she’s, in fact, Nadinia’s maid. She’ll ask you to kill Nadinia to prove your loyalty to the cause, and you can do two things, both of which complete the quest:
    • Grab Irmhild (Good Ending): Instead of attacking Nadinia, you can capture Irmhild by grabbing her. This reveals her identity, but before she can be captured, she kills herself. This is a better ending than disagreeing with Nadinia, but you still haven’t learned Irmhild’s full plan.
    • Unsheathe Your Weapon (Best Ending): You don’t need actually to attack Nadinia, just unsheathe your weapon and a cutscene will trigger. Nadinia and Irmhild will have a discussion where Irmhild reveals her plan. Menella then comes in and captures her for the best ending to this quest.

That’s how to complete A Candle in the Storm in Dragon’s Dogma 2. For more DD2 guides, check out how to find all maister skills and enchantment styles.
