Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Carve Pumpkins

It’s spooky season once again. That means the leaves turn orange, stores will have scary costumes, and candy is all around. Well, at least in Animal Crossing New Horizons. If you want to be festive, what better way is there than decorating your island with the gourd of the season? In this guide, we’ll be showing you how to carve pumpkins in ACNH. 

Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Carve Pumpkins

To carve a pumpkin in Animal Crossing New Horizons, the first thing you’ll need are pumpkins! During the month of October, you can find Leaf in your Plaza with his garden shop. You can purchase a Pumpkin Start for the low price of 140 Bells. 

Once you have the Pumpkin Start, you’ll want to plant them. Like any other plant, you have to dig a hole and bury it. Water it every day. After four days you’ll have three pumpkins that you can pick. 

After you have the pumpkins, you’ll need to find the Spooky Lantern Recipe Card. This is part of the seasonal Spooky set that you can only get in October. To find this card, and others in the set, you’ll have to shoot down balloons or talk to your villagers who will give you them. This is all up to chance, so keep trying until you get it. 

Now that you have the pumpkins and the recipe card, we can now carve the pumpkins. Go to your work table and select the Spooky Lantern recipe. It will cost you two pumpkins. Now you have a carved pumpkin that you can use to decorate your island or even the inside of your house.
