The helicopter momma dinosaur is back in the Ark. Released in Patch 1.035.011, the Gigantoraptor can now be found in the wilds of the Island. If you don’t want to look for her, however, here are the Gigantoraptor spawn commands you need in Ark Survival Ascended.
Gigantoraptor ID and Spawn Command in Ark Survival Ascended
To instantly have a Gigantoraptor appear in your area, you want to use the Command Console to spawn one in. If you’re in a public server, you’ll need to turn on the feature and have Admin Permission to use it. To do this, use the following steps:
- Go to the main menu screen and select ‘Settings’
- Click on the ‘Advanced’ tab and ensure ‘Console Access’ is set to ‘On’.
- Exit the menu and start the game.
- Press the tilde (~) button on PC to open the console. On PlayStation, you need to press R1+L1+Square+Triangle, and on Xbox you need to press RB+LB+X+Y.
You can spawn a tamed Gigantoraptor, or a wild one, either way you’ll need it’s Creature ID.
Gigantoraptor ID: Gigantoraptor_Character_BP_C
For a wild spawn use the following command: Summon [Creature ID]. When it shows up, it’ll appear in the same space as you, causing it to glitch for a moment before jumping to the nearest available spot.
For a tamed dino use this command: GMSummon [Creature ID] [Level]. You don’t have to give it a level, but if you’re looking to get a max dino, you want to input it. You’ll know the prompt was successful when you get a popup asking you to name your new tame.
How to Get Gigantoraptor in Ark Survival Ascended
While Gigantoraptor was pushed to ASA, that doesn’t mean they’ll automatically start appearing on your server. To get them to show up, you need to download and install the mod. You can do this through Curse Forge, or directly in the Mods menu in-game. It’s simply titled Gigantoraptor, with StudioWildcardMods listed as the owner. Once downloaded, install it on your server.
Where to Find Gigantoraptor on The Island in Ark Survive Ascended
When the server loads next you’ll be able to hunt and find Gigantoraptors on the Island. To find them, you want to head to forested regions of the map.
How to Tame Gigantoraptor in Ark Survival Ascended
Taming a Gigantoraptor is a bit of an event. You can’t tame an adult of the species and can only bond with a baby if the adults are still alive. This can make it challenging to accomplish.
To lure away the momma, you want to have the biggest fertilized eggs you can possibly find. A selection of two or three Rex or Giga eggs will do the trick. Drop the egg down a short distance away, causing the helicopter parent to rush over and attempt to hatch it.
While the adult is busy, sneak to the nest. Select the Hide in Gigantoraptor Nest option and wait for the baby to come up to you. As long as the mom is awake, untrapped, and able to return to the nest at any time, it should happen quickly.
Once the baby starts interacting with you, the bonding minigame begins. Mimic it’s moves during the set time to tame it. Using the wrong move, attacking it, or getting attacked by the momma will cause the taming bar to decrease significantly.
