Even though Norway is a hefty part of the beginning of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, it’s easy to forget once you set sail to England. However, there are plenty of good reasons to return to Norway once you’ve increased your power a bit, and one of them is to obtain Mjolnir.
Yes indeed: the hammer of Thor, Son of Odin, is lying in wait for only the worthiest warriors. Finding it isn’t difficult, but unlocking the requirements to actually wield the weapon will take a lot of time. Here’s how to obtain Mjolnir in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Where is Mjolnir in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla?
This is the easy part. You can find Mjolnir very early on in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Mjolnir is in the far northern reaches of Norway, in the Hordafylke region.
If you check out the screenshot above, you’ll see the green player indicator at the location of Thor’s hammer. It’s northeast of the “L” and “K” in Hordafylke.
The easiest way to get there is to sail your longship northeast up the fjord. You’ll find a small area peppered with trees that cuts between two mountainous areas. Follow this area further to the north, and you’ll start to hear thunder, indicating you’re getting close.
You’ll also spot an area where it looks like something massive has struck the land. Keep walking to the base of the mountains in this area, and you’ll find Mjolnir, jutting out of a rock.
You can interact with it, but you probably won’t be able to pick it up… yet.
How do I Use Mjolnir?
Here’s where things get tricky. If you know your Norse mythology (or you’ve seen a Marvel movie), you know that Mjolnir can only be wielded by those who are worthy of doing so. To do this in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you must dress up as Thor. You must find all the different pieces of Thor’s armor and wear them in order to start swinging the hammer around.
Defeat the Daughters of Lerion for Thor’s Armor
The first thing you must do is find and defeat the three Daughters of Lerion. These are extremely powerful foes that can be found in England. They have their own icon in the legend, though they’ll just appear as blue dots until you locate them.
Their names are Cordelia, Goneril and Regan. Here’s where they’re located:
- The first is in Grantebridgescire, directly north of the Isle of Ely Monastery.
- The second is in East Anglia, on the same landmass as Grantebridge and Theotford. Look for the icon to the southwest of the Synchronization point.
- The third is also in East Anglia, in the far northeast section. Head towards the Synchronization point far to the east of Brisleah Farm, then go straight north.
Each of these enemies will net you a piece of armor and a dagger. Once you have all three daggers, go southeast of the town of Northwic in East Anglia. You’ll find a secret entrance here just southwest of Burgh Castle.
Follow that passageway to a statue, and place the three daggers you earned from the Daughters of Lerion at the statue. This will open a door where you can obtain the next piece of armor.
For the final piece of Thor’s armor, simply defeat every member of the Order of Ancients.
Once you’ve defeated the entire Order, return to Hytham in Ravensthorpe to receive the final piece of armor. You will now be able to interact with Mjolnir to free it from its rocky prison and wield the power of the gods for yourself.
