Permanent Bounty Hunter

A unique feature of the Bounty Hunter in DD2 is that he only shows up at the Inn when you have a spot available on your team. He must be hired in order to join your party, unless you have this mod. Permanent Bounty Hunter allows you to add the Hero to your team at the Crossroads.

Relationship Affinity Capped

If you hate negative relationships, or just always end up with them, this is the mod for you. Using this mod, relationship’s can’t go lower than 14, meaning you’ll never have a negative relationship in game again.

No More Thresholds – Heal and Stress

One of the new mechanics in Darkest Dungeon 2 is the addition of thresholds for using certain skills. This mainly effects Healing and Stress Heal abilities, such as Battlefield Medicine and Divine Comfort. No more Thresholds – Heal and Stress gets rid of those requirements, making it easier for you to use them and keep your party going.

Always a Mastery Point

Always a Mastery Point gives you a Mastery Point for every victorious combat you have.

Full Balance Overhaul

This full balancing overhaul mod aims to make underutilized skills, like Highway Robbery, more powerful. Ten of the 12 characters have some of their skills tweaked, so reading the full mod description will be helpful.

999 Stacks

As the name implies, 999 Stacks provides endless inventory stacking for items and Trinkets in Darkest Dungeon 2. No more inventory management for you.

All Memories Selection

Memories give extra buffs to Heroes that survived the previous Confession Boss battle. However, you can only select from a few instead of the whole list. This mod allows you to choose from all Memory buffs, instead of the randomly selected ones.

Trinket Overhaul

Much like the Full Balance Overhaul, the Trinket Overhaul mod aims to provide more utility for some of the most under used Trinkets in the game. This includes Hero specific Trinkets, such as the Severed Finger for the Jester, as well as Region and Hoarder Trinkets.

Flagellant can go Resolute or Meltdown

Unlike other Heroes in DD2, the Flagellant goes Toxic when he hits max Stress. There are special mechanics that go along with Toxic, but they don’t necessarily impact the rest of the party the way going Resolute can. The Flagellant can go Resolute or Meltdown mod, changes his stress response to match that of the other characters.

Death Can Spawn Without Flagellant in Party

Death is a new mini boss in the game, appearing after a victorious combat as long as the Flagellant is in your party. For those that don’t like the Flagellant, this can be frustrating as you may never get the Not Today! hidden achievement. This mod takes care of that, changing Death’s spawn conditions so she can appear without the Flagellant in your party.

While there’s a large variety and selection of mods for Darkest Dungeon 2 to choose from, these ten best mods are essential for some playstyles. They help to balance out the game, give you more variety in your playstyle and allow you to meet the Death mini boss regardless of team composition.
