Jingubang

The best staff in the game is a mythical weapon found at the Water Curtain Cave. Besides dealing an extreme amount of damage, it no longer depletes the 4th Focus Point gauge over time. On top of that, it has the unique ability “Heaven’s Equal,” which increases your critical hit chance after casting a spell. But my favorite part about this weapon is that it reduces the cooldown of all spells once you execute a critical hit.

Note that to reach this staff, you need to use the Somersault Cloud to be able to move north of the Mantis-Catching Swamp Waypoint.

Golden Loong Staff

Although this golden staff has no critical hit chance buff like Jingubang, you’ll definitely want to get or craft this weapon for its ability to increase the damage of all Pillar Stance moves. These moves are especially effective against sweeping ground attacks from enemies, allowing you to avoid damage and prepare for counterattacks. Additionally, you can summon a Loong with this staff that starts throwing thunderbolts at your enemies.

To get this weapon, you’ll need to defeat Yellow Loong in the Relief of the Fallen Loong, Webbed Hollow, and the final boss of the Purple Cloud Mountain called The Duskveil in Chapter 4. Then, you can craft it using these materials:

  • 1x Mountain-Shaking Claw
  • 1x Sea-Supporting Tendon
  • 2x Kun Steel
  • 45,000 Will

Spider Celestial Staff

Some of the best weapons in Black Myth Wukong add extra perks when the protagonist is damaged. Similarly, Spider Celestial Staff inflicts Poison Bane status effect if Wukong gets Poisoned state. But the main selling point of this weapon is its unique ability to restore health if your charged heavy attack was successful. This fantastic weapon can be crafted using the following recipe:

  • 1x Chitin Staff
  • 1x Spider Leg
  • 4x Gold Tree Core
  • 8x Refined Iron Sand
  • 30,000 Will

Staff of Blazing Karma

If you like to always maintain high focus, then this staff can be a great choice for continuously attacking, dodging, and executing spells. This synergy allows for a more fluid combat experience, enabling you to unleash powerful abilities without worrying about running low on focus. This can be especially useful during encounters with multi-faceted bosses, who execute several attack patterns at once.

Visionary Centipede Staff

This staff is very similar in design to the Spider Celestial Staff, but the only difference is that your HP recovery is massively enhanced in case your enemy becomes poisoned. It’s up to you which of these two staves is better, but I think that Spider Celestial Staff is more suitable for late game, while Visionary Centipede Staff can be more useful in the earlier part of the game, where HP total is more vulnerable.

Kang-Jin Staff

Some of the epic weapons can be quite effective too, especially when taking into consideration their unique abilities. In this example, the Kang-Jin Staff deals powerful Thunder Strike to a single target. It also has a 6% chance to inflict a critical hit, which adds up to the overall damage. You’ll be able to get this weapon from the campaign boss Kang-Jin Loong in Snowhill Path, Mirrormere. But you also need to craft it with the following materials:

  • 1x Starlit Cloud-Bidden Antler
  • 4x Refined Iron Sand
  • 8x Yaoguai Core
  • 21,000 Will

Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff

When most staves in Black Myth Wukong have offensive perks, this one staff that attracted my attention, has a defensive perk, adding 30 points to your DEF stat. But it also has an offensive side to it by slightly increasing the damage executed by charged smash-heavy attacks. You can get the Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff from a secret boss Shigandang at Fright Cliff-Rock Clash Platform, Yellow Wind Ridge, and by crafting it with the following:

  • 1x Heart of Stone
  • 4x Yaoguai Core
  • 8x Stone Spirit
  • 8,100 Will

Rat Sage Staff

Lastly, here’s one of the better early-game staves that actually has a terrific AoE effect. Just like Kang-Jin Staff, it increases your critical hit chance by 7%, and then the fourth move of the light attack combo and mobile staff spin can stir up a whirlwind of sands, increasing attack range and damage. This is a truly powerful trick that can puzzle even the most dangerous of bosses. But to get this staff, you’ll have to first defeat Yellow Wind Sage in Yellow Wind Formation, Windseal Gate, and craft it with:

  • 1x Samadhi Wind Agate
  • 4x Refined Iron Sand
  • 8x Yaoguai Core
  • 21,000 Will
