Black Myth Wukong: White Fox Quest Guide

Learn where to find and how to complete the white fox side quest in Black Myth: Wukong.

Chapter 3 of Black Myth: Wukong takes place in The New West. This is one of the most varied locations in the game, featuring snowy mountains, thermal lakes, a nightmarish prison, and the conspicuously empty Melon Field. On the way to the large temple on top of the hill, you might meet a curious character: a white fox’s pelt who asks to meet a monk in the building above. Here’s how to complete the White Fox Quest in Black Myth: Wukong.

Black Myth: Wukong — How to Start White Fox Quest

You should be familiar with the white fox in question even if you haven’t met her yet. The animated short movie that opens this chapter tells the story of this animal and of the young man who finds her wounded in a snowy mountain. We won’t recap the whole cutscene here, but the story is sad enough that you’ll want to see it to the end.

To start this side quest, let’s start by finding the fox. This is actually quite easy, as once you’re close enough she will start talking to you. The fox (or rather, the scarf made of fox fur) is resting on a wooden stump right before a steep hill. Teleport to the Forest of Felicity shrine and start going uphill, and you’ll find it.

Once you talk to the fox, you’ll gain a brush made of her fur called Snow Fox Brush. Using this item will allow you to take the animal’s form, making you faster and drawing less attention from some enemies. You don’t have to use this form if you don’t want to, but it does make navigation slightly easier.

Once you have absorbed her spirit, the fox will ask you to bring her to the young man who killed her. He is now a monk, living in the large temple on top of the nearby hill, and she wishes to confront him. This temple contains lots of collectables and is populated by unique enemies and bosses, including the final boss of this chapter. You’ll have to get there eventually, but finding the right monk among many isn’t all that easy.

How to Complete the White Fox Quest

To find the monk Non-Void and appease the white fox’s spirit, start from the Temple Entrance checkpoint and follow these instructions:

  • Enter the building complex
  • Go through the large red building and take the staircase on the left
  • Go down the stone stairs to the left and enter the building in front of you
  • Go up the stairs inside the building
  • Move to the other side of the building and follow the wooden slope
    • Don’t take the slope to your left but the one that leads outside of the building
  • Follow the stone stairs in front of you
  • Enter the building in front of you

You don’t have to be in fox form to do any of those steps, but you will need to transform once you enter the building. Non-Void, the monk found in this building, will not fight you unless you look like the white fox.

Defeating this enemy will conclude the fox’s story and unlock a new spirit to transform into. And with that, our white fox quest guide for Black Myth: Wukong is concluded. For more guides about the game, visit our BMW guide hub.
