Can You Move Estate Cairns in Nightingale?

Can you relocate bases in Nightingale after you've placed them?

Being able to change the location of your base is a boon in any survival game. Often, you’re able to break down your current base and use it to build a new one, even if you lose materials along the way. So, can you move Estate Cairns in Nightingale?

Is it Possible to Move Estate Cairns in Nightingale?

If you’ve placed an Estate Cairn and decide that you no longer want your base in that location, there is a brief time you can relocate it. You must do so before the structure is fully formed and still transparent. During this period, hold the “E” button to bring up the action wheel and select Move. Pick the new site you want to put the cairn and confirm.

You can also choose Deconstruct, which returns the materials to you and cancels the build action. This is good to use when moving to a new region far away versus just changing the general base area. Once the logs, stones, and fiber are in place, the Estate Cairn is unmovable via action wheel. Both the Move and Deconstruct options disappear from the action wheel.

How to move Base Estate Cairns After They’ve Been Built

If you’re set on moving your cairn, enter mini-build mode in the Nightingale. Press “X,” and a new set of prompts will appear where your toolbar is. Hover the cursor over the Estate Cairn and press “R.” This allows you to move it around the area.

Instead of moving your original Estate Cairn, you can always build a new one in a secondary location you’ve chosen. Since you can only have one cairn active at a time, when the second is complete, the first will be overwritten and deactivated.

That’s how to move Estate Cairns in Nightingale. Since you’ll be moving to different realms throughout the game, having multiple bases is expected.
