How to Get the Blood Rage Legendary Dagger in Dead Island 2

To get the Blood Rage Legendary Dagger in Dead Island 2, you’ll need to complete the Fool’s Gold quest. This mission comes from a unique Crusher zombie in the Santa Monica Pier.

From the Lifeguard HQ fast travel point, head to the interior of the facility, and you’ll spot a Crusher named Dante. If he hasn’t spawned yet, you may need to complete the campaign, as can be the case with other Legendary weapons.

After killing Dante, pick up the note and open Randy’s Locker. It’s in the same building near Dante. From here, you’ll need to acquire two more clues in this zone.

Once you’re done, you’ll be able to head to a specific location to open a chest. You can refer to the map below for the note locations. One is in the extreme northeast of the map, while the second is in the southwest, near the edge of the pier.

Fool’s Gold Note #1 Location: Meeting of the Minds

Go to the theme park area, and head to the other side of the Ferris Wheel. There, you’ll see an ice cream shop with a clown logo. At the back of this shop is a bench that has the note.

Fool’s Gold Note #2 Location: Flaws in the Plan

Leave the theme park and head to the boardwalk and street shops on the opposite side of the zone. At the end of the street, you’ll see the Merry-Go-Round Yogurt Shop. Check the small alley off to the side to pick up the second note.

Fool’s Gold Buried Safe Location

Return to the Lifeguard HQ building and check the side that’s close to the wall. There, you’ll see over a dozen zombies emerge, including a Butcher. Eliminate all of them and you’ll be able to open the half-buried safe. This will complete the Dead Island 2 Fool’s Gold quest, netting you the Blood Rage Legendary Dagger.

Blood Rage Dagger Mods and Perks

Here are the mods and perks for the Blood Rage Legendary Dagger:

  • Mod: Superior Melee Puncturator: Inflict bleed damage and grants a major damage boost; successive hits apply the bleeding effect.
  • Perk: Agile: Killing a zombie grants a minor agility boost; can stack multiple times.
  • Fixed Perk #1: Puncture Wound: Critical hits done in quick succession grant extra critical damage and bleed damage; can stack multiple times.
  • Fixed Perk #2: Infectious: Hitting a zombie causes additional bleed damage; causes nearby enemies to bleed as well.

The Blood Rage Dagger certainly has its uses. It’s ideal for single-target engagements due to minimal range (it’s a dagger, after all). However, the Bleeding status effect can spread, so you can hit one opponent several times, then back away to see nearby hostiles get their HP depleted.
