How to Start the Diablo 4 A Debt Repaid Quest

To start A Debt Repaid, head to Backwater. You’ll need to find Kato, and hear her calling out asking if you’ve seen “this man”. She’s at the base of the stairs across from the vendor. After you speak with her, you’ll immediately be tasked to find Flinn. Kato will follow along, and she’ll even help you in the next part.

Flinn Location in A Debt Repaid

A new search area will appear on your map, but Flinn’s location won’t be marked. I found him in the northeast corner of the area, directly next to the shoreline. You’ll see him just moseying around and immediately notice he’s already turned into a drowner, so you’ve got a fight on your hands. 

Engage with Flinn (The Grifter) and eliminate him, he should be pretty easy to take out. I didn’t have any trouble with the fight, Kato will even get a few whacks in. Afterward, Kato will walk toward the nearby ship and you’ll need to speak with her. I was not too surprised to hear the lack of remorse from Kato, Backwater is a cutthroat place, after all.

After your brief conversation with Kato, the side quest will be complete. Your reward for completing A Debt Repaid is an item cache, gold and XP tailored to your level, and +20 Hawezar renown.
