If you’re like us, you love including your animal critter companions in the day-to-day life of Disney Dreamlight Valley. The new Pride of the Valley update has released an exciting new feature: The ability to take selfies with them! In this guide you’ll learn how to take photo with your animal companion so you can start documenting your time together.

How to Take a Photo with an Animal Companion

First things first, make sure you have a companion equipped by visiting your wardrobe menu. If you don’t have a companion yet, check out our critter guide to get started.

  • Now that you’ve got your buddy ready, equip your camera from your tool menu. 
  • Press your respective button to take a photo, shown in the bottom left corner of your interface.

  • In the upper right corner, you’ll see three options: A closeup, a full-figure, and a landscape photo. Select the full-figure option that’s in the middle. 
  • You’ll now notice that a paw icon has appeared in the pose menu of the camera, click on the paw icon and you’ll see you’re now posing with your animal companion!
  • When you’re ready, press your capture button shown in the bottom left corner of your interface.
  • You’ve now successfully taken a photo with your animal companion! Find the respective buttons to save or share the photo in the bottom left corner.
