Do Resources, Enemies, and Chests Respawn in Enshrouded? How Respawning Works

If you're looking to farm enemies or resources in Enshrouded, this is what you need to know about respawns.

Chests filled with arrows, enemies that drop Metal Scrap, and looted bombs are all valuable resources found throughout Embervale. As a survival game that can have 32 people in the same world, can these items, enemies, and chests respawn in Enshrouded to farm items and crafting materials?

How Resources, Enemies, and Chests Respawn in Enshrouded

Yes, items, enemies, and chests respawn in Enshrouded. Chest respawns are among the best ways to farm resources like Metal Scrap early. The items contained in chests stay the same. Mostly. I’ve noticed the contents change after an update, but from then on, they remain the same. So be sure revisit them when you’re running low on resources.

Do Items on Tables, Carts, and Beds Respawn?

Random items found on tables, carts, and beds also respawn. The camp next to Braelyn’s Bridge has valuable resources that reappear. The five arrows in the wooden palisade at the start of the bridge on both sides respawn. The dead Scavenger’s body respawns, as does the arrow piercing his heart.

Do Enemies Respawn in Enshrouded?

All enemies respawn, including Elixir Well bosses. Clear a well and let it respawn to defeat the boss again. You get almost the same rewards you did originally. The only difference I noted was my Guillotine was legendary the first time and epic rarity the second.

While it may be annoying, Shroud Roots also respawn. Those in Elixir Wells and the solitary ones found in various Shroud locations reappear. This can be frustrating since those points cleared the Shroud previously, and you don’t get any extra rewards for chopping them down again.

Thankfully, the map has been updated to include checkmarks for cleared Shroud Roots, instead of just Elixir Wells. Now you can track which roots you’ve chopped and which you still need to visit.

Enshrouded Respawn Timers: When do Items, Enemies, and Chests Reappear?

Pinpointing when resources, enemies, and chests respawn in Enshrouded has been hard to peg down. According to the Known Issues thread posted on Steam, some things can respawn faster than others, depending on player interaction. While working on the fix, the Keen Games team updated the timer, reducing it from two hours to 30 minutes.

Do Items in Your Base Respawn?

Resources in your base don’t respawn. Based on the lore, only the areas potentially affected by Shroud, aka any place not your Flame-protected base, will respawn due to the time-stopping properties of the fog. This means any resources you collect, holes in the ground you dig, or accidental damage from explosions won’t return to their previous state.

That’s what I’ve been able to figure out regarding how items, chests, and enemies respawn in Enshrouded. For locations of valuable resources, the best XP farming spots, or ways to heal, check out our guides page for Enshrouded.
